Cooked sweet potato slices and apple wedges are baked to make a great holiday side dish.

¾ cup Sugar
4 Tbsp Cornstarch
½ tsp Salt
1¾ cup Boiling Water
1 Tbsp Butter
1 Tbsp Lemon Juice
¼ cup Orange Juice
6 Yams, cooked, peeled and cut into ¾" slices
6 Apples, cored and sliced into wedges


Mix sugar, cornstarch and salt together in saucepan. Pour boiling water over above and stir. Add butter, lemon juice and orange juice. Cook and stir until thickened and bubbly. Pour over yams and apples that have been layered in a large casserole dish. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.

Helpful Tips:

A great substitute for candied yams.
