Hot Buttered Rum Yams

Rum, nutmeg, cinnamon and vanilla flavor ruby red yams to create an enticing holiday side dish.
 

Ingredients

  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup dark rum
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 3 medium ruby red yams, peeled and cubed
 
Method

Place an oven safe pot on stove top. Melt butter, add all ingredients, except yams, and simmer 10 minutes to form a syrup. Add yams and toss to coat in syrup. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-45 minutes, or until yams are soft.
