Easy Cheesy Grits

Serve this easy side dish with cooked chicken or pork. Just cook the grits and stir in bacon and cheese.
 

Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb sliced bacon
  • 4 Cups water
  • 1 Cup quick-cooking grits
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Method

Fry bacon until crisp. Drain on paper towels and cool; crumble the bacon and set aside. Bring water to a boil. Slowly ad grits, salt and pepper, stirring until well blended. Cover pot and turn heat to low. Cook for 10 minutes, stirring often. Add cheese and crumbled bacon. Mix well and serve.
